Devant Rehearsal for iPhone

Use Playback and Checkpoints on iPhone

Navigate the waveform, set a return point, and create reusable checkpoints for the parts of a track you teach repeatedly.

The fixed playhead stays centered while the waveform moves underneath it. Drag the waveform to review the track, then use playback and checkpoints to return the class to the intended starting point.

Product documentation Updated August 2026

Navigate and play

  1. Drag the waveform left or right to place the centered playhead at the point you want to hear.
  2. Select Play to begin, or Pause to hold the current position.
  3. Select a checkpoint row to make it the current return point. If playback is active, Devant Rehearsal moves to that point and continues playing.
  4. Select Stop to stop and return to the current return point. When playback is already at the return point, Stop returns to Track Top.

Add and edit checkpoints

  1. Place the rehearsal position at the intended start of the section.
  2. Select Add checkpoint in the checkpoint tray.
  3. Use the checkpoint's More control to edit its name, exact time, or color.
  4. To move a waveform marker, pause playback, then press and hold the marker before dragging it to the new position.

Result: Devant Rehearsal saves the updated checkpoint plan automatically and orders it by time.

Checkpoint rules

  • A checkpoint is a reusable start anchor. It does not create an automatic stop at that time.
  • Each track supports up to 20 checkpoints.
  • Devant Rehearsal prevents another checkpoint within one second of an existing checkpoint.
  • Keep checkpoint names short enough to recognize at a glance during class.
